Partnership is at the heart of everything we do. Art Explora has no venue and no collection of its own — instead, we work with museums and arts organisations to share their collections and creative opportunities; support artists to reach new audiences and explore new forms of collaboration; work with donors and funders to maximise what’s possible; and engage directly with the public to support access and participation.

Corporate Partnerships

Art Explora creates collaborative, multi-faceted, innovative Corporate Partnerships that help us to deliver our core programmes and champion access to the arts for all.

Since 2023, we have been proud to partner with Gallagher and Hiscox for the Mobile Museum pilot tours in 2023, 2024 and 2026, bringing major national collections directly into underserved communities.

Art Explora UK and Sony Design Europe joined forces in 2023 to bring therapeutic digital art into UK hospitals. The first landmark installation: 'The Enchanted Forest' was unveiled in the paediatric ward at King's College Hospital. We are now expanding the programme to other hospital locations.

V&A East

Sharing a mission to create art and culture with and for new audiences, our three-year partnership with V&A East comprises two programme elements: the annual Art Explora Art Commission (2026–2028) and the Art Explora Performing Arts Programme. The partnership is specifically structured to invite communities from V&A East’s surrounding boroughs — Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest — to take part in bold, contemporary artistic practice, working alongside both emerging and established artists.

North East Museums

North East Museums was one of our first partners for Time Odyssey when we piloted the programme in 2023 and has now been a partner for over 3 years. Time Odyssey is an interactive learning experience that takes children on a quest through their local museum, both physically and virtually; and supports transport grants for schools. Through this partnership, North East Museums has hosted school visits from children all over the North East, some travelling as far as 72 miles. For many, it was their first visit to the Hancock or South Shields Museum and Art Gallery.
English Heritage was a natural partner for our Beyond the Battle national schools competition, launched to coincide with the Bayeux Tapestry’s exhibition at the British Museum. With Norman sites across the UK and a strong track record in national schools engagement, English Heritage helped us build an impactful programme — one that teaches children the history behind the tapestry; encourages creative engagement; and supports visits to the historic sites in English Heritage’s care.
In 2025, Art Explora UK formed a landmark partnership with the Government Art Collection and DCMS to design and build a permanently touring UK Mobile Museum. Backed by a government grant to build the new truck, the partnership will tour the Government Art Collection and three other national collections every year for four years, ensuring national collections are shared with much wider audiences across the country.
“Working with Art Explora has let us reach audiences who might not otherwise walk through our doors […] through the kind of ambitious, collaborative programming that makes a real difference…”
